Location: Pacific Crest Trail via Lake Morena

Description of trip: Boulder Oaks is sensibly named for its large boulders and oaks. The trail rambles through many oaks and later lower chaparral as it approaches Lake Morena. The lake is a large peaceful place with large trees shading picnic tables. After the lake the trail winds itself up two gentle climbs and then descends several hundred feet into the lush streambed canyon where it ends at Hauser Creek Road.
