Troop 680 Outings

Major Treks

Sierra Trek (Feature)

Our Sierra Treks are always a great way to get out into beautiful country.  Our treks have usually been around the Mammoth area.  If you would like to know more about our Sierra Treks, please use the link to the left.

Philmont (2004)

Philmont is the single biggest scout ranch around.  The troop has gone to Philmont 4 times, you can ask any one of the boys that went if they had a great time.  I guarantee the answer will yes.  To learn more, use the link to the left.

Philmont
(2001)

Philmont is the single biggest scout ranch around.  The troop has gone to Philmont 3 times in the last 10 years and you can ask any one of the boys that went if they had a great time.  I guarantee the answer will yes.  To learn more, use the link to the left.

Boundary Waters (external site)

Boundary Waters is the ulitmate canoeing experience.  We spent 10 days on the clearest water and in the most beautiful country that I have ever seen.  You can be sure that the next time the oportunity to go to Boundary Waters, I'll be going.  To all the adults:  Have any more sick days left??  Boundary Waters is the best place to "get sick" for 2 weeks.

Big Sur

The Big Sur Spring Break trek is one I would consider NOT going on again.  This trek is best assosiated best with the worlds cold and wet.  No one on this trek stayed dry.  In former scoutmaster Dale Long's words, "You've heard of extreme skateboarding, well try extreme backpacking in Big Sur."

Escalante
(Feature)

Escalante is similar to Big Sur in its connotation to wet.  However, this trip was very enjoyable.  The sun was warm and river treking is a lot of fun.  Don't bother waterproofing your boots.
