This trip is an easy beginner backpack, suitable for any scout who wants to start backpacking. It is approximately 13 miles over two days of hilly but not difficult terrain. The campsite, cibbets flats, has running water and bathrooms as well as a creek to play in. In 1998 this outing was halted after the first day due to high winds and the danger of having smaller scouts blown off the trail down steep hillsides on the exit trail. In September 1995 this trip was completed successfully. Some of the nice things about this trip are the easy route, well established campsite with full facilities except only pit toilets, and well maintained pacific crest trail.

Here is the profile. The little white dot is where camp is - about nine miles in the first day, but the mileage is actually innacurate - its more like 7 or 8.
